You've just purchased a Leather Jacket, You've fallen in love with your new purchase and you want to ensure that it looks as cool and chic for many years to come. Here's a great guide for making sure your jacket stays exactly like that:
- The majority of leather jackets have been pre conditioned before being sold, to make doubly sure however you can apply a water proof protecting product. You will need to re apply this from time to time. (The product must be specifically for use on leather, you wont want to stop the leather from breathing.
- Writing this from England it is very easy for me to sympathise with the fact that at some point your jacket is likely to become wet. In the event of this happening don't worry! dry it at room temperature but dont apply intense heat and keep the jacket away from fans. When the jacket is almost dry you may find that adding a conditioner makes it stay flexible and stops it from going stiff.
- On the other hand if your wearing your jacket in a hot area you should make sure that you apply a conditioner, this will stop the jacket from cracking (Think Sun Burn! and always remembering to wear sun tan lotion)
- Everyone has the odd accident, in the event that you do spill something nasty on your new purchase gently sponge the residue off with mild shoap making sure that you dry the jacket off after.
