With the rise of the internet, many freelance writers find the World Wide Web to be an invaluable source of freelance writing jobs - and SEO writing jobs are amongst the most lucrative positions available.
Search engine optimization article writing is easy enough to understand. You simply write an article as you normally would, only you make sure to repeat certain keywords several times throughout the article. Ideally, you will have several different keywords to use, and each keyword should normally be used at least once per paragraph - though the exact guidelines for SEO article writing can vary greatly from one company to the next.
This is why it can be a tough job - your writing style remains somewhat limited because you have to include these certain words, and they must be fit in to your text (and still make sense) several times. #1 Approach the project not only with an open mind, but with an open writing style, as well. Because the request article could conceivably be on any topic, and because the employer may want a certain style or writing tone to the article, you should be prepared to bend or even break any personal writing rules you may have. Remember, you are doing the writing for someone else here, and you should be putting yourself second to that.
#2 Do not overuse the keywords. If you clog the article with keywords, it is really hard to have a well-written article. Besides this, it also gives it away immediately as an article that has been written for search engine optimization - and this is frowned upon by many. The ideal article that has been written for SEO does not sound like it is trying to pick up traffic by utilizing keywords. Instead, a proper article that has been written with SEO in mind should resemble any normal article you may have previously written.
#3 Use words that are similar to the keywords. Using words that pertain to the subject and the specific keywords is also a good idea, and can score you some extra points with your employer. Again, you will want to be careful to avoid overusing these words, as well - especially since they are words that haven't even been asked for by the employer.

Remember, practice makes perfect; and this is true even when it comes to writing articles that have been optimized for scanning by the many internet search engines that are out there today.
